I can remember feeling as though my life was a movie and it had an amazing soundtrack. I was home alone a-lot as a kid and turned to the record collection for comfort. It was this record collection that raised me, that is along side a Golden Retriever named Grindle. The vast assortment of albums became my family and my teachers. They were folk singers, classical instrumentalists, jazz musicians, jazz singers, Britains finest, comedians, and monologuists. They were my comfort, savior, and release. I moved to New York City at 19 and inspired by the city's diversity I began writing my own songs and sang in small cafes with just a percussionist and an upright bass. My music took on different flavors and feels. It became a blend of folk, jazz, R&B, blues, and pop along with an urban ethnic flavor.
